All You Need to Know About What
we Do!
Carolina Cockers Rescue is a privately owned organization. We are not a
business and all funds/donations made go directly to the
cockers in our care. No pay, nor rent is required nor accepted
by Carolina Cockers owners or volunteers. We simply remove
pure bred cocker spaniels from animal shelters or otherwise
dangerous situations. We vet them, alter them, re-train them
and find them homes within the United States or Canada who
will care and love them forever. No animal will leave Carolina
Cockers Rescue unless it is spayed/neutered.
Donations made at the time of adoptions cover all vet care for
the dog you are adopting or the next cocker in line for vet
care. Since we house the cockers at our home we request that
you follow the hours of operation and the practices for
adoption. Living with 35 cockers is hard work and we
appreciate your respect for what we do here.

Applications |
If you are interested in adopting one of our cockers we MUST
have an online application via this website prior to your
visiting CCR. |
|
Adoptions |
Held on Saturdays ONLY,
unless
arrangements are made with the director. |
|
Adoption Donations |
The adoption donation is between $100-$250, depending on the
dog you are adopting. We will discount donations on
seniors and special needs dogs because they will probably need
more veterinary care in the near future than a younger dog. |
|
Out Of State Adoptions |
Carolina Cockers does adopt to out of state homes. The adopter
is responsible for all transportation. We will fly dogs via
www.Deltacargo.com but all dogs are not available to be flown.
It depends on the temperament of the individual animal. The
adopter is responsible for all fee's involved with flying the
animal. The actual flight costs, Vet Health Certificate, US
Vet Certificate (if out of country) and the Crate the dog is
to be flown in. We would rather meet you in person however! |
DO NOT come to Carolina Cockers unless invited and you
are expected.
After submitting an application via our website please allow
24 hours to be contacted via email or phone by our Adoption
Coordinator, Mrs. Angela Charters.
Neither Carolina Cockers Rescue, nor The Bryce Family, accept
any responsibility for Dog Bites or accidents incurred while
visiting Carolina Cockers. Please leash all pets and restrain
your children. We are the only cocker rescue in the southeast
who allow known biters. Follow all
instructions given at the time of your arrival and your visit
should be a rewarding one.
Your adoption donation covers spay/neuter, vaccinations,
heartworm testing (and treatment if needed), teeth cleaning,
lab tests, deworming, bathing, grooming, flea treatments, and
a physical exam. If you were to purchase a dog from a
breeder, you would have to pay a lot more to do all of these
things yourself. Typically, it costs around $600-800 to
have all of these things done.
We do NOT turn away homes due to lack of a donation for
the dog. We will inform you of what we have to pay
for the animal while in our care and hope that you can help us
to keep doing what we do here. In some cases, if you can not afford the
donation, yet Carolina Cockers deems that you CAN afford to
care for the animal on a long term basis, then arrangements
may be made to see that you adopt the animal.
SENIORS! Senior humans who would like to adopt Senior
Cockers may do so without cost. Carolina Cockers must deem
that you can afford to care for the animal on a long term
basis however and all application procedures must be followed.
Special Needs Cockers-If a cocker is in need of
specialized treatment in the future then Carolina Cockers
reserves the right to delete or reduce the standard donation
for a pure bred or mixed bred cocker.
ALL donations may not be tax deductible.
